Daddy Weekend!

Here are some pictures of what Daddy was up to all weekend while Mommy was at the beach house with her girl friends. Looks like they had a great time!!! Just in case you can't tell, they are digging up worms (used for fishing), playing soccer, climbing trees, walking around Middleton Plantation, and lots of funny faces!

Parents' Night at Preschool
Last night was Parents' Night at Bethany Child Development Center. We really love their school and their teachers and are thrilled that everything is working out so well. Somehow, each child ended up with the PERFECT teacher for them! This whole separation deal turned out to be no big deal.
Mary's teacher marvels at her organizational skills and "prissiness" and lets Mary remind her if there's something that still needs to be done. Nothing could make that child happier! Cutting out her big red paper apple was taking too long yesterday, so Mary was charged with reminding Ms. Harris to let her finish before school ended. With great delight she did so and it was hanging with everyone else's on the board last night. Also, 4 of the children in this 4-year-old class are either already 5 or about to turn 5 -- and that works great with Mary. She will have no problem keeping up and no doubt will love the challenge. She's already writing her name and doing some basic reading.
Jack's teacher so clearly adores him -- everything about him! As Ms. Walters led the parent group through the typical day and discussed their class in general, she turned to us and laughed about Jack at least 4 times! Apparently he loves to build things in this class and will use anything, even pretzels, to do so. On the board, each child had a list of favorites and aspirations. Jack apparently aspires to be a dump truck driver. Yeah! Hope he aims higher someday, but for now we are thrilled that he is in such a loving, happy environment and is learning so much. His writing skills have soared as has his nearly-reading ability.
We left with joy in our hearts and headed straight to Oscars (with our coupon!) for a YUMMY date night dinner.
