What fun we had today with so many of our priends!

Thursday Thirteen

Howdy, Folks! Just thought I'd saunter on over to this here computer and punch in the Thursday 13 for this week.

Thirteen Things we did at the Dude Ranch
1. Ate -- lots! Food was plentiful and yummy.
2. Rode horses/ponies. Make for some sore booties!
3. Fished in the streams.
4. Caught trout in said streams.
5. Saw the trout "dressed" next to the streams (that's actually "undressed" in case you don't know).
6. Played with cousins.
7. Read lots of books at the recreation center.
8. Watched the Kid Rodeo. Fun!
9. Saw antelope.
10. Saw mule deer.
11. Played with the cute ranch dogs that looked like Georgia.
12. Flew on 6 different airplanes. Did some serious praying there!
13. Missed our friends at home!

Wordless Wednesday

2 Funnies from Jack

Our son, Jack, has a huge sense of humor and he delights in making others laugh. Yesterday he was so full of himself! Two funnies:

1) Words I've never spoken before: "Oh, no, Jack. That's not a surfboard, Honey, that's an ironing board." Clearly, I don't like to iron very often and he was so cute in telling me that he loved my new surfboard.

2) As we were in the pool with some visiting cousins, Jack got a hold of Mary's Ariel the Mermaid pool toy (a lovely birthday gift). He raised her hand straight up into the air and said "Hey, Mac!" To understand why this is so adorable, you must know that my deceased father was Mac and our favorite picture of him shows him with his arm straight in the air waiving -- and we always say "Hey, Mac" to it. Tears!

Just a tip for you gals...

Learned something new today: it's really, really hard to put on your Spanx after just getting out of the pool.

P.S. Learned this little gem today after we had family over for a visit & it was decided that we should get out of the pool and head to a "Western Wear" store nearby. Cousin Isabel needed some boots for the upcoming trip to the Dude Ranch. Putting my cute little sundress on after the wet suit was nearly impossible!!!

Indoor Fun!

Here are some photos from this past week, as both children have now recovered from that odd fever thing. Jack is trying on Daddy's boots and hat -- they were out because Daddy's suitcase is being packed for our trip to the Dude Ranch in Wyoming. Mary is listening to Daddy play guitar, and I hope she takes a sincere interest. The picture of the three of them in their Jammies is my favorite! We love hanging out together at home!
